Do I need a Homey?
Yes. HDashboards is a dashboard for Homey — it does not talk to devices directly.
Is my account the same as my Homey account?
No. HDashboards has its own account, created on hdashboards.app. You link your Homey to it once. See Signing in.
Can I use more than one Homey?
Yes. Connect several and their devices appear together when you add a card, each labelled with the Homey it belongs to.
Where are my dashboards stored?
The layout is stored in the HDashboards cloud, so it follows you to every device you sign in on. Only identifiers are kept — which device a card points at, not what that device is doing. Live device data goes directly between the app and your Homey.
Why does my phone layout differ from my tablet?
Because that is intentional. A dashboard stores a separate layout per screen size, so a design made for a phone is not disturbed by one made for a tablet.
The side effect is that a card added on your phone will not appear on the tablet automatically. Open the dashboard on the tablet and place it there too.
I deleted a card by accident
It is in the trash bin for 14 days.
Why does my card say "not found"?
The device no longer exists on your Homey, or the Homey it belongs to is disconnected. Edit the card and select the device again.
Can I give my family their own logins?
Yes, and it is one of the main reasons people use HDashboards. See Users and permissions.
Is the PIN code real security?
It is a guard on the dashboard, not on the device. It stops someone tapping the tile — a passer-by, a curious child at a wall panel. It does not stop someone using the Homey app, or someone who can enter edit mode where the PIN can be read.
For real restrictions, limit what an account can see with Users and permissions. The full picture is on the PIN protection page.
Can I show a security camera?
Yes — a Video card for a live RTSP stream, or a refreshing Image card pointed at a snapshot URL. The Image card is lighter and often the better choice for a camera you only glance at.
Can a card change colour automatically?
Yes, with the companion app. A Homey flow can set a card's colour live — red while a door is open, amber when the washing finishes.
Can I use it on a Nest Hub?
Yes, via the authenticated URL as a stream URL. See Sharing and wall displays.
Can I use Fahrenheit?
Yes — it is a per-card setting on the Weather and Forecast cards.
How do I get the top bar back after hiding it?
Seven quick taps on the screen. See Kiosk mode.
