HDashboards MCP for Claude and ChatGPT etc.

Design your dashboards by chatting with Claude

HDashboards now has an MCP server, so an AI assistant can build and adjust your dashboards for you. Ask for a hallway tablet with the front door lock, alarm, weather and clock, and the assistant looks up your Homey devices, proposes the cards, places them on the grid, and waits for your approval before it changes anything.

It works with Claude and with any assistant that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in, such as ChatGPT.

Try it in Claude

  1. In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it HDashboards and enter https://hdashboards.app/mcp.
  3. Click Connect, sign in if asked, review the permissions, and click Allow.

The connector then works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile. Claude Code users can add it with one command:

claude mcp add --transport http hdashboards https://hdashboards.app/mcp

What you can ask

  • Build a hallway tablet dashboard with the front door lock, alarm, weather and clock.
  • Group all living room lights under a title on the Home dashboard.
  • Show the energy meter as a 0–5000 W gauge with green, orange and red ranges.
  • Arrange the Bedroom dashboard for a phone.
  • Share the Kitchen dashboard with a household member.

What it can and can’t do

The account owner’s assistant sees and changes all household dashboards. A member’s assistant only sees dashboards shared with them, and only changes the ones they can edit.

It can add, change, arrange and remove most card types, including devices, thermostats, flows, weather, clocks, calendars, gauges and batteries. It can’t add or remove people, change passwords or settings access, switch devices, start flows, or see PIN codes. It never controls your home, so nothing changes in Homey.

Mistakes are easy to reverse. Asking the assistant to undo can revert up to 25 changes, and removed cards and dashboards sit in the Trash bin for 14 days. The assistant asks before deleting anything.

Privacy

The assistant reads the names of your dashboards, cards, devices, rooms, flows and flow tokens. For the account owner, it also reads household members’ names and email addresses. That data goes to the company behind the assistant you connect, under its privacy terms. HDashboards doesn’t use AI itself, and nothing is sent until you connect an assistant.

You can see every connected assistant under AI assistants on your account page at hdashboards.app, and disconnect any of them immediately.

Give it a go

Start with the free 14-day trial. No payment info needed. Update the app on your screens and they’ll pick up assistant changes within about a minute. With the Homey companion app installed, changes appear straight away.

We’d love to hear what you build. Come say hi on the HDashboards Discord.
